Burials at sea are not just for people who have served in the Navy but in fact, this option in and around Guernsey and the Channel Island waters is cheaper and easier than people think. Unlike the UK the Access Challenger can obtain a unique license to perform the burial at any specific coordinates. 

Almost 20 people a year are laid to rest in the sea every year, people who have either had a long-standing connection to the ocean or want an eco-friendly alternative to traditional methods.
